What happens on this version of the site

• Product selection — selected product IDs and quantities are stored only in your browser so the selection survives a page change or reload.
• Display preferences — your VAT view and dismissed pricing notice are stored only in your browser.
• Postcode checker — the checker compares the postcode with locally embedded presentation areas; this version does not send or store the postcode.
• Contact and enquiry forms — these open your own email application. The website does not transmit the entered details to a server; you choose whether to send the resulting email.
• Payments — no payment details are collected because online payment is not active.

When you contact Ares

If you send an email or call, Ares may use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry and discuss a possible service. The legal basis, retention period and any service providers used for the final Shopify store must be documented before launch.

Your rights

UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict use of your personal data, and to object or complain. You can contact Ares at hi@areswaters.com or the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Before Shopify launch

This notice must be updated when hosting analytics, Shopify customer accounts, checkout, payment providers, email marketing, delivery integrations or server-side forms are selected. The live notice will identify each purpose, legal basis, recipient, retention period and international transfer where applicable.
